Proud of fellow Chinese people.

As someone studying in China, I can confirm. My uni would have CCTV on TV, exposing Israeli brutality in Gaza. CNetz on Weibo have been spamming Israeli and German embassy for two weeks. I saw one post that compares the suffering of children in Gaza to the suffering children in Shanghai and Nanjing during Japanese brutal occupation of China. There are also many educational videos about Palestine on WeChat.

one person on twitter used the phrase “boycott fatigue” in the context of telling people to follow the BDS targeted boycott list rather than the really long other lists and every single other person took it at face value and ran with it like it was a genuine serious thing people were saying they had and it is driving me to the brink

and i know it doesn’t Really matter but also one of my biggest problems with online activism is how we waste so so so much time getting mad at an imaginary guy and fighting with other well-meaning people over misunderstandings that wouldn’t happen if everything wasn’t immediately taken in bad faith

another key point is that people love to jump on to this kind of thing to make fun of this imaginary guy and feel good about themselves and like. THE POINT OF ACTIVISM IS NOT TO FEED YOUR SUPERIORITY COMPLEX. ITS TO ACTUALLY HELP OTHER PEOPLE
